March 16, 2010

UPDATE ON THE NEW E-REGISTRATION FORM

According to Russ Kraay, Registrar, the following is an important amendment to the last paragraph of the latest edition of e-Notes (Vol. 3, No. 3) that you received recently:

“The new online e-Registration form will be posted on Monday, March 22.  After that you can open the form at registration.spccsc.net and do your online registration any time up to the first day of classes, May 3.  Your registration, along with any paper registration will randomized at 4 P.M. on Monday, April 12th, the third day of paper registration, if the total registration for the course exceeds the maximum class size.”

                                   UPS PFISHING EMAILS ALERT!

I received a phone call from Bill Benysh advising me of another email scam (phishing) under the guise of UPS America claiming they had an undeliverable package that you had supposedly sent to someone and they needed more information from you, especially your credit card number, for verification.  Bill was suspicious and checked with UPS, the Sheriff’s office and the local FBI.  It was confirmed that this was, indeed, not a legitimate email from UPS.

If you should get an email like this one, or any that request your information, especially your credit card or personal information, do not, under any circumstances give this information out without first checking it out.  You can call the very company they claim to be representing and confirm whether or not this is legit.
