This course introduces Picasa, a free photo editing and organizing application from Google, and the associated Picasa Web Albums. This course will describe the basic principles of how Picasa works and how to use Picasa to view photos; do basic photo editing including copping, straightening, redeye, and retouching; how to create and use Albums; and how to email, print, and export photos. This course will also cover how to import photos with Picasa and how to control which pictures Picasa uses. Other features that will be demonstrated but not covered in detail include identifying people using face recognition, making a movie from photos, and locating photos in Google Earth (geo tagging). The course will then cover how to use the free Google online service, Picasa Web Albums, which can be used to safely store and share your pictures online.


PREREQUISITES

This course is intended for those already comfortable with basic computer operation including word processing, Internet operations, and use of an email account with your user ID and password.
