Skype, Is a free software program that allows you to chat and see others around the World. You can have up to 10 different people on at the same time. We will go over how to setup the program with privacy and your contact list. We will walk you through with making contacts with others. We will be using Skype Desktop for XP, Vista, and Windows 7 computers and also Windows 8 Tile App for those with the new windows 8. If you are going to use Windows 8 Tile APP you will need to bring in your Microsoft Account Username and Password.

This course is intended for students who own a Windows 7 computer or who want to run Skype off the Desktop in Windows 8. Students who want to install and run the Skype App from the Start Screen of Windows 8 should register for course CC1610 (below). Each student is encouraged to bring their own laptop computer to class to download and setup this program. If you don’t have a laptop computer, the Computer Teaching Center has computers on which to learn.

Students should come to this course with knowledge of the computer keyboard, some typing skills, and basic mouse skills. The Computer College Prep School course, or equivalent computer skills, should precede this course.
