Focus will be on computer applications of most interest to Shell Point residents – word processing, email, the Internet, and organization of files using folders. Class time will include hands-on practice with the goals of building confidence and becoming more efficient. Students are encouraged to ask questions about areas in which they need assistance.

Laptop computers in the teaching center have Windows 7 as the operating system.

PREREQUISITES

This is not a basic computer course for beginners. Students should come to class with knowledge of the computer keyboard, some typing skill, and mouse skills that include left click and right click, as well as click and drag. They should have at least elementary knowledge of word processing and the Internet. Completion of a Level 1 course or equivalent experience would be useful.
